We work closely with our suppliers, investing the time to understand their business and products to ensure that we meet their needs and that of our customers. We aim to provide a seamless service to both and deliver quality to our customers.
Our select range of suppliers provide us with products that we export to Asia, North America and Australia. Whilst our key focus is New Zealand produce, we also understand the need for our buyers to have a year round supply of products, so we also supply fruit from Australia and South America to our buyers in Asia and North America.
Established in 2009 by Russell Faulkner, Mark Tavendale and Ross Moffatt, FPG has rapidly grown into a market leader in the New Zealand fresh produce export industry through innovation, flexibility and strong relationships.
We are committed to building long-lasting relationships with our growers and buyers through collaboration, mutual trust and transparency, and to become your number one choice of produce exporter in New Zealand.
Whilst produce has been our core focus, our business has also evolved to include other related products including Blackcurrant extract in various forms for use in the pharmaceutical and food industry; and we are also the New Zealand agent for the Micro Controlled Atmosphere System. Our latest venture is the launch of Sea Fresh Trading Co. exporting seafood to the Pacific Rim.
FPG are licensed exporters of Black Currants, Summer fruit and Tamarillos, and also hold a collaborative marketing license to export KiwiBerry.
FPG is located in Tauranga, the economic hub of the Bay of Plenty and one of New Zealand’s fastest growing cities; it is also home to the Port of Tauranga, the country’s largest export port.
Our team has a combined experience of almost 50 years in the trading / export industry. We’ve built our business based on strong relationships, collaborating and adapting to meet the needs of our suppliers and customers, and our passion to succeed in delivering premium New Zealand produce and specialty products worldwide.
Managing Director
Russell is the Managing Director of Fresh Produce Group and Sea Fresh Trading Co. and has over 30 years of international produce trading experience based in USA, Australia and New Zealand.
Born and bred in Canterbury on a mixed cropping farm, Russell graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and Management from Lincoln University.
Export Manager
Duncan is responsible for global sales and developing new business in our key markets. He is also the driving force behind Sea Fresh Trading Co. a partner company launched in 2016, marketing premium NZ seafood worldwide.
He has over 20 years’ experience marketing both produce and seafood in New Zealand and overseas.
Import Sales & Operations Manager
Originally from India, Abhi moved to New Zealand in 2004 after completing a degree in Business Management. With over 20 years of experience in the fresh produce industry, he brings deep expertise across both organic and conventional lines.
Over the course of his career, Abhi has held a variety of roles across wholesale and retail, building strong, long-term relationships with growers, exporters, and distributors around the globe. His experience spans managing complex import programs and developing international partnerships, with a particular focus on key markets such as China, the USA, and the Pacific Islands.
Abhi is passionate about fresh produce and is committed to delivering quality, consistency, and value across the entire supply chain. Outside of work, he enjoys travelling and spending quality time with his family.
Shipping and Administration/Accounts
Caryl is responsible for the shipping and administration/accounts aspect of our business, and has been with the company since it commenced in 2010.
Her career started in the banking industry, initially in customer service roles before specialising in the trade finance (importing and exporting) sector. After living and working in Auckland, then Christchurch, Caryl took some time out to focus on her family and raise her two young children, Ebony and Janelle. After spending time in Sydney, Caryl and her family returned to live in Auckland, and soon after returned to work in accounts and administration roles.

Director
Mark is the founding partner of Tavendale and Partners who is highly regarded for his strategic advice.
Mark is highly experienced in all aspects of commercial law, his specific expertise is in the primary and agribusiness sectors with considerable expertise in the sale and purchase of large and complex farming operations, succession planning, New Zealand's overseas investment laws and high country tenure reviews.
He also owns, with his family, one of New Zealand’s largest blackcurrant growing operations.
Director
Ross is a chartered accountant and director of Fresh Produce Group with over 26 years business experience. Ross also has a number of other business interests with his focus being the financial and risk management aspects of those businesses.
Ross has spent most of his life in Canterbury where he lives with his family. His school aged children keep him busy most of the time with biking, swimming, basketball, horses, motorbiking, snow skiing, boating, you name it they are into it.
We are licenced by the NZ HEA to export Blackcurrants, Summer fruit and Tamarillo.
