A Berry Superfood

New Zealand blackcurrants are delicious and extremely nutritious.  The combination of our pristine environment, our climate, high ultraviolet light intensity, and specially bred varieties produce berries rich in colour and flavour and high in anthocyanins, antioxidants, and vitamin C.

Acknowledged as a ‘superfood’ there is solid scientific research showing that New Zealand blackcurrants provide a wide range of health and wellbeing benefits including:

  • Reduced cholesterol and increased circulation
  • Improved eye function and recovery
  • Improved mental performance
  • Improved kidney function
  • Exercise recovery, diet and immune responsiveness
  • Overall improved general health and wellbeing

We work with the largest commercial blackcurrant grower in New Zealand

As one of the leading blackcurrant exporters in New Zealand, we are integrated with the Tavendale Family, New Zealand’s largest commercial blackcurrant grower based in Ashburton, Mid Canterbury. The Tavendale’s grow 170 ha of blackcurrants, as well as redcurrants and organic blackcurrants.

We also have access to supply from a number of other growers / packers and work closely with the industry as a whole.
